impermanence is the principle of harmony, 2017
acrylic, wood, branches and paper
this work shows a paper universe that is achieved through re-shaping, cutting, folding and collapsing. An open architectural structure, a shelter, is built from painted wood. A metaphor for the barrier between culture and nature, painting and sculpture seems to be falling apart, or being built up. Thus Rink is playing with notions of non-linear time and painting as a temporary practice.
